At Hand and Stone, we value the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. One of our biggest initiatives this summer was our “Get On Your Feet” Campaign, where we encouraged our spas and customers around the country to participate in a local 5K run or walk. If you showed proof of participation, many of our locations offered a FREE Hot Towel Foot Treatment with a massage service.
The benefits of being active and the benefits of massage are very similar. According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), regular physical activity is one of the most important things you can do for your health. Like massage, exercising 3-5 times a week for 30-60 minutes can help improve your physical and mental health.
“We recommend sports massage be used to improve athletic performance or for recovery. It can help improve conditioning and maintain peak performance,” says our Director of Massage Therapy, Nathan Nordstrom.
Skin care is also a very important aspect of self-care. Taking care of your skin will aid in prevention and recovery from the sun’s harmful rays.
