Toya, Chanel & Lauren’s Journey: Building a Multi-Generational Franchise Legacy

Hand & Stone

I’m Toya Evans, and together with my daughters, Chanel Grant and Lauren Williamson, we’re building a multi-generational legacy of business ownership, focused on promoting healthy lifestyles. Our journey started in Prince George’s County, Maryland, where we sought to bring health-focused brands to underserved communities. In 2015, we launched our first franchise, a quick-service restaurant offering healthy smoothies. Soon after, we expanded into Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa, attracted by its strong business model and commitment to wellness.

Our Hand & Stone franchise reflects our dedication to making health and wellness accessible. We engage deeply with our community, hosting fundraisers and partnering with local groups to support those in need. We’re passionate about educating women and minorities about the power of franchising and created the online course “So You Want to Buy a Franchise?” to help aspiring franchise owners take the leap.

Our advice? Start before you’re ready. We began with limited resources but grew a thriving business through perseverance and creativity. We’re excited to continue expanding our presence in the health and wellness industry, building a lasting legacy for our family and community.
